Blue Note's High Notes, at 70: David Friend | Vanity Fair

Last night was the first of three nights at Rose Hall of the Blue Note celebration concerts with the LCJO. Things went well – Joe Lavano was incredible and the LCJO sounded great as usual – I had a lot of fun playing with them again. A special treat for me was a trio version of “Misty” with Dianne Reeves, Wytnon Marsalis, and myself. Looking forward to tonight and tomorrow!

Hi Peter,
Sam and Eli went to the Blue Note at 70 celebration at the Sheldon last night and said it was amazing – featuring Ravi Coltrane, Nick Payton and others…
also, I passed your 2 minute jazz piano videos on to the pianist in U-city’s jazz band – I love how the dog walks by and Daniel sticks his head in the frame!
Take care!
Linda
