Thanks! That makes perfect sense.
I´ve trying to find a fingering I would use for both
black and white keys, but this seems logical and
feels nice for the hands.

I have one more question: When in a situation
where you would use a quartal sequence like that,
would you always start on the same key, or do you
make it a point to be able to play it from any key
(I´m especially thinking of contrary motion, since
this takes a bit of coordination).
It is a quite strong sound in itself, and in my head
it might seem better to have a sequence like that in
my fingers real strong, rather than practicing it
all over the place and maybe stumbling.
I would love to have your view on this if you´ve
got the time to answer.

Anyway, enjoy your tour in Spain and have,
plenty of great wine and tapas.
One of my favorite countries, especially food-wise.
Hoping to see you in Oslo, Norway soon!

Regards, toebr

Toebr - In the right hand, I use 4-2-1 or 1-2-4 for all that have black key on top, 1-2-5 (or 5-2-1) for the others. For the left hand I use 5-2-1 (1-2-5) for white key on bottom and 4-2-1 (1-2-4) for black key on bottom... I hope that makes sense! You should definitely expirement at a slow tempo with different fingerings to see which works best for your hands (and mind) and then memorize and automate that particular fingering pattern as you increase the tempo - good luck, and thanks for your kind words abpout my playing!

Hi!

I´m a big fan of your playing, checking out some of your solos
and comping on the Redman "Spirit Of The Moment" record
right now actually.
Some of the greatest modern swing playing I know of, thank you!

I would love to know the fingering of the last 4th movement
at the end of the video, those are a bit hard to play, I find I´m
tending to strain my hand playing this particular movement.
Also, I´d be interested to know your choice of fingering for
the other sequencing, do you use 2nd or 3rd finger in the
middle?

Please keep up these lessons, they´re a great inspiration!
